It was never the intention to sell on the karts second hand. Rental Manager Lesemann is amazed that the interest is so great and that the waiting list for kart rental are sometimes so long - that too astonishes him every time.

With it's tennis courts, indoor and alfresco swimming pools, arts & crafts programmes, the disco & the theatre: everything runs well at Südsee-Camp. But the kart rental takes the biscuit. Thus the figures are impressive. They offer 80 to 100 karts for rental in the high season, and they are all rented out every day. And when Südsee has earned back the initial investment? Then they offer the karts for sale second-hand.

Mr. Lesemann: "They are gone in no time. Our camp-site guests themselves ask for them: when is there another sale? Then we just check on the computer."

The computer is the 'brain' behind the kart rental and sales. Lesemann has stored all data per kart: a unique code, when let out, how frequently let out, how long let out, purchase amount, expected sales price. From the PC he automatically gets the signal that a certain kart has made its last ride. Some are even sold during the season (yesterday for example, five Monaco karts), others afterwards.

The BERG products are strong and maintenance-friendly. Lesemann has one mechanic employed, who is not very busy! The chains are protected against sand and mud. Every now and then the mechanic touches up a scratch, that's all.

But the camp-site guests do not notice that. They only want to pedal and tear off, and take the queues for granted, besides, you can always play tennis!
